The treatment for pregnant women is little more conscious and careful because it includes effects it can have on the mental health of the baby too.

The people with depressive disorders are usually prescribed some medications. Pregnancy has some depressive effects. But when a woman is pregnant not much of antidepressant medication will be advised for it can have effects on the baby too.
The best option here would be that if a woman is suffering from some depressive disorder and becomes pregnant she should discuss it with the doctor in the early stage of the pregnancy.
The doctors suggest putting a pregnant woman with depressive disorder on psychotherapy rather than medication.
It is assumed that the antidepressants trigger birth defects.
